Mission: To support a system that will provide employers with a skilled workforce and will provide job seekers with access to jobs with increased earnings potential.
Vision: The Workforce Investment Board will be a leader in community collaboration to promote a dynamic, high skill/high wage economy in South Central Missouri through development of its workforce and workplaces.
Each local area (our area is referred to as the South Central Region and includes the twelve counties of Wright, Texas, Reynolds, Wayne, Shannon, Douglas, Ozark, Howell, Oregon, Carter, Ripley, and Butler) within the state is required to have a Workforce Investment Board. The Local Board is appointed by the area's Chief Elected Official and is certified by the Governor. The Governor is also responsible for establishing the criteria for use by the chief elected official in appointing the Local Board members. There are 13 separate workforce regions in Missouri.
