Role of the Workforce Investment Board
Mission: To support a system that
will provide employers with a skilled workforce and will provide
job seekers with access to jobs with increased earnings potential.
The Workforce Investment
Board will be a leader in community collaboration to promote a
dynamic, high skill/high wage economy in South Central Missouri
through development of its workforce and workplaces.

Composition of the South
Central Region
Each
local area (our area is referred to as the South Central Region
and includes the twelve counties of Wright, Texas, Reynolds,
Wayne, Douglas, Ozark, Howell, Oregon, Carter, Ripley, and Butler)
within the state is required to have a Workforce Investment Board.
The Local Board is appointed by the area’s Chief Elected
Official and is certified by the Governor. The Governor
is also responsible for establishing the criteria for use by the
chief elected official in appointing the Local Board members.
There are 14 separate workforce regions in Missouri.
